Living in Bangor:

The Student Union offers students a variety of five bars with three of these being within the Union.  The ease of location of Time/Amser, Main bar and Jocks bar within the union building means that these bars tend to be popular for students.  Alongside these three bars there is also George’s bar and the Fridd Bar, which are location next to other facilitates on the student campus.

Within Bangor itself, if students want to try out the social scene within the City they have a choice of Time, The Octagon and Joop.  Due to excellent links with the University students can enjoy a popular student night on Wednesday’s at The Octagon.

The location of Bangor is rich with artistic charm and The main shopping location in Bangor are situated around the Centre of Bangor.  The newly built Menai Centre in the City Centre has provided a more selective Shopping experience for those living in Bangor.  Due to the close location of shops for students who are living in halls at the university you only need to take a short walk to reach shops, supermarkets and other services but if you want to just get a few items, Upper Bangor has a few facilities.  Just outside of Bangor there is a retail park, which has a range of high street stores, for example PC World.
