Living in the area
Wrexham is a friendly place to live as a student with lots to do and see and a variety of local shops to meet most shoppers’ needs along with some top markets. There is also a large ASDA store within the town for cheaper weekly food shops.
The university is easy to get to with many buses running from Wrexham bus station, based in the centre of town and just a ten minute walk from the university. If you’re travelling by train then Wrexham General station is just a 5 minute walk and Wrexham Central a 10 minute walk from Glyndwr University. Chester is about 20 minutes away by car/taxi and there are direct routes to both Cardiff and London.
Wrexham offers a good mix of traditional pubs and modern wine bars, along with great nightclubs such as Yates, Liquid/Envy, Wetherspoons and Lloyds.
Central Station is a popular club and live act venue in Wrexham and has hosted more than 1,000 bands over the past years.
