Transport:

There are a number of excellent transport links and travelling around the city and to the rest of the UK is easy.  Middlesbrough is close to Darlington with the train station  only about 30 minutes from the campus.  The station has services to a number of  cities across the UK and  the TransPennine Express, with services to Middlesbrough, Newcastle, York, Leeds and Manchester. The nearest airports are Liverpool and Manchester with a small provincial airport at nearby  Durham Tees Valley which is about 13 miles away.

Parking and Permit Information:

Parking permits are available from the Middlesbrough Council website.  There are currently a number of restricted areas both in the city centre and surrounding areas.  Visitor permits are also available in certain circumstances

Living in Middlesbrough

Teesside University is located in the North East location of Middlesbrough in Tees Valley.   Tees Valley is surrounded by breathtaking countryside with major cities including Leeds and Newcastle close by.

Middlesbrough has a range of nightclubs mostly in the City Centre if you want a change from the Student Union.  There are lots of social venues located across the City that are extremely popular.  Some of the main clubs are in Captain Cook Square and Southfield Road with some well-known bars and pubs like Dickens Inn, The Star and Lloyds Bar.  There are lots of nightclubs to chose from such as Walkabout, The Empire and the Cornerhouse. If you get bored and want a change you can always check out the clubs in nearby Sunderland or Darlington.

One of the great benefits of the shopping in Middlesbrough is the diverse range of shops that are located in the City Centre with their close  proximity making it even easier to spend your money.  There are four main shopping centres in the town .  These are Dundas Shopping Mall, Captain Cook Square, The Mall and Hillstreet Shopping Centre.  All four locations have a diverse range of shops; coffee shops and restaurants which allow you to enjoy your day without too much walking.
