Living in the area

Falmouth is a vibrant town with many individual boutiques, restaurants, inns of great antiquity and many highly regarded eating places. Combine this with a cultural selection of film, theatre, live music and art galleries to choose from, Falmouth is one of the South West’s favoured areas to holiday and reside. As the third deepest natural port in the world, the town provides high quality marina facilities and docking for visiting cruise liners and is always popular for those seeking interest and spectacle.

There is a frequent bus service that runs from campus and only cost costing 50p for a single. However, taxis are relatively cheap in the area especially if there’s a group of you to share the cost.

Parking Permits
If you wish to park at the university then spaces are limited and you will have to apply for a permit. Visit the following link for more information:

Local Shops
There is only one shop on campus and prices arn’t really student friendly, but for milk and bread it’s ok. However, there is a free bus which takes you to the local ASDA and back again every Monday and Thursday. Falmouth is only 15 minutes away by bus and has every shop or restaurant you could possibly need.

Local Restaurants
Falmouth has a fantastic array of restaurants from the cheap and cheerful to the more exotic which will cater for everyones tastes. Local places include the following:

-Pizza Express
- 5 Degrees West
- Hunky Dory
- Harvey’s Wharf
- Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen
- Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant

Remedies bar is a popular nightspot or if you just want to chill out with a pint and watch the boats come in and out then head for the Quayside or Chain locker pubs. There’s also regular event’s going on in the towns brand new events square next to the 2 year old state of the art Maritime Museum which is definitely worth a visit.
