University of Leeds
Best Locations for Student Accommodation:
- Hyde Park
- North East of the City Centre
The majority of students tend to live in Hyde Park and Headingley which is only about a five minute bus ride from University and 15 minutes bus ride from town and due to excellent transport links it is very easy for students to travel to and from University. Due to the close proximity of other northern cities such as Bradford and Manchester, there are excellent public transport options for you to travel around a variety of areas.
Parking and Permit Information:
If you live in an area where you require a resident parking permit, this is easily acquired by filling in the required parking services forms. Permits are available for the vehicles that are registered at the address and alongside this you are also allowed a visitors’ permit.
Living in Leeds:
Leeds has endless possibilities and is therefore a popular city for students.
Leeds has a vast amount of shops and markets both indoors and outdoors. The Kirkgate market has over 800 stalls so if vintage is your style you can flourish in this location! Furthermore, with five indoor shopping centres there really is something for everyone!
Alongside this, Leeds can also offer students a cultural aspect with a range of museums, galleries and theatres.
Leeds Trinity has great transport links as it is easily accessible by road, there’s a railway station ten minutes’ walk from campus and plenty of buses from Leeds and Bradford stop directly outside the main entrance. Leeds Bradford International Airport is just a five minute car journey.
The nightlife in Leeds is second to none and there is a variety of bars, clubs and music venues for all students to enjoy. Some of the best locations for bars and nightclubs are Call Lane and the Northern Quarter. There is also a huge variety of pubs, ranging from the traditional like The Dry Dock to a very classy cocktail bar in the Northern Quarter called Mojo. The majority of nightclubs in Leeds are scattered across the city but some of the huge and popular clubs in Leeds include Gatecrasher and Oceana.
