Located on the South Coast of England, Portsmouth has great transport links to other areas of the UK via trains from Southwest trains or there are nearby local airports in Bournemouth and Southampton. There is a free university bus that transports students to some outer parts of the city. A number of students tend to purchase bikes to travel to University and around Portsmouth.
Parking and Permit Information:
One of the most popular student locations in Portsmouth is Southsea and the majority of locations have free parking outside the property. However, some areas require a permit, which are available from the council. You can obtain the first permit free but for a second you would need to pay £53.50 annually.
Living in Portsmouth
Located on the south coast of the UK, Portsmouth is a vibrant city located close to the sea and various other popular south coast cities including Southampton and Bournemouth. The benefits of living in this city are the mixture of a city and a seafront location.
Portsmouth’s university facilities are mainly located in to the heart of the city.
Portsmouth is an up and coming party city. There is a huge amount of clubs with an exceptional variety for you to enjoy. Some of the more popular clubs in Portsmouth include Tiger Tiger, Liquid, Oceana, Bliss and Chilli White. Additionally, there are various other clubs all of which cater for various preferences and genres. There are a number of bars and clubs spread across Portsmouth from the city centre and in the Quay. Obviously, there a number of cities close to Portsmouth so you can always go and explore the nightlife in Southampton and further afield in the Isle of Wight.
There are various shopping locations in Portsmouth and one of the added advantages is that all of the High Street stores and independent shops are situated within easy access of the city centre. Gunwharf Quays has a range of outlet designer stores and as well as this Southsea and Albert Road is definitely worth visiting to enjoy quirky and original boutiques.
