Due to the location of the University campuses in High Wycombe and Uxbridge there is a great range of transport services to locations across the UK. Close at hand are airports which include the City, Luton, Stansted and Gatwick.
Transport for students to the campus is very easy with a regular bus service from the University to the town centre. Public transport options out of the area include buses, underground, and rail or car.
Parking and Permit Information:
Students tend to avoid taking cars to Uxbridge and the University due to the sparse parking areas and the cost of running a car in the outskirts of London. Excellent transport services make the need to own a car unnecessary.
Living in High Wycombe:
The University has two campuses located in High Wycombe and Uxbridge, both situated on the outskirts of London. A day out in the Big City is always an option subject to funds!
Nightlife in High Wycombe is extensive and there are various bars and clubs situated across High Wycombe. Firstly, students have the option to go to the Lounge at the students’ Union, which is popular in the evenings as it hosts an assortment of music alongside other events such as comedy nights and pub quizzes. There are endless venues in town for students to enjoy but some recommended areas include Pure on Oxford Street, The White Room situated at the Campus and various other places in Frogmoor, London Road, Oxford Street and the High Street.
In High Wycombe there is an excellent shopping complex called “Eden.” Eden is a combination of shops, restaurants, cinema, library, bowling alley and various other facilities. There are also a number of boutiques and specialist shops in High Wycombe with two parks close by for the adventurous outdoor type.
Living in Uxbridge:
Brunel offers a variety of shops, bars and restaurants and a nightclub, which holds a number of student nights throughout the week. The academy is the University’s student union and offers various theme nights throughout the different terms. Central Uxbridge offers a number of popular locations including Liquid, which is one of the focal areas due to the clubbing experience that it offers. In the vicinity there are also a number of bars and restaurants to enjoy.
Again, with High Wycombe there are a range of great shopping areas and centres for you to experience!! In the heart of the city there is a shopping centre called “Chimes”. Chimes have a combination of both shopping facilities alongside leisure facilities with a cinema and a variety of food locations. Secondly, the “Mall” shopping centre has an outstanding amount of great stores.
