Best Locations for Student Accommodation:
- City Centre
Average rent for a typical 3-4 bedroom is around £60.00-£240.00 pp pw.
There are excellent transport links to the city either by rail, fastcoach services. or through the city’s airport There is also an excellent bus service enabling easy movement throughout the city.
There is a range of bus services to travel to the university’s two campuses, Garthdee and The City Campus. First Aberdeen services numbers 1,2 and 9 provide transport from the city centre to the Garthdee Campus and Service 9 also provides transport through the same route and is hourly after 8.30am.
Secondly, if you are located at the city centre campus there are excellent transport links either from the train station, or by buses.
Parking and Permit Information:
Car permits are needed in some areas of Aberdeen and can vary in price from £80.00 – £220.00 for a period of 12 months.
Living in Aberdeen:
Aberdeen provides a perfect mix of a cosmopolitan city and a busy social scene with an interesting and diverse nightlife. It is a historic city with a coastline of sandy beaches.
There are a variety of activities available both in the university and outside. Around Aberdeen there are over 50 sports clubs for your enjoyment whether you play amateur or to a professional level. If you don’t have a keen eye for sports; why not join one of the 150 student societies available through AUSA.
The busy social scene has a number of key locations to party.Belmont Street is the place for trendy bars and a variety of clubs. Aberdeen is also known for its multiplicity of gigs and Cavernous Tunnel has a host of DJ nights where up and coming talent perform on a regular basis.
The City of Aberdeen has a range of popular stores and shops, which are located in the City Centre. The Union Square is the most popular shopping experience in Aberdeen, which has a range of shops, bars and restaurants for you to enjoy for a lovely day out!! Aberdeen has five shopping centres in all so check out Granite Mile and Union Street.
