Living in Sheffield

Sheffield has a reputation as one of the greenest citys with its multitude of parks and surrounding countryside. Sheffield is a vibrant friendly city for students to live in as it’s one of the Safest Major cities in the UK.

Leeds and Manchester are in close proximity to Sheffield, only about one hour on the train and London is only 2 hours so there are a variety of great cities surrounding Sheffield for students to visit if they want a change!

The University has some great faculties that Students can use including all weather pitches, playing fields and a fitness suite. However, if you are not a fitness fanatic but want to get involved in Sport at the University there are 36 sport clubs run by the students union that you can engross yourself in.

Sheffield has an exceptional variety of clubs, bars and places to eat scattered across the City. Popular bars and clubs in Sheffield include the Forum, Embrace, DQ and the Plug. Most clubs in Sheffield offer cheap student nights throughout the week and there is an assortment of clubs and bars which all cater to a number of tastes. Sheffield has a number of venues which are popular for music gigs including The O2 Academy, The Stock Room and Sheffield City Hall. Also, don’t miss out on a range of exclusive and excellent nights at the Students’ Union.

There are various shopping locations mainly in The City Centre from high street stores to individual boutiques. The best areas for shopping include Meadowhall ,which has over 270 shops, The Devonshire Quarter and Ecclesall Road.
