Living in the area
Transport
Access from central London is good and you can travel direct to Strawberry Hill station from Waterloo station using the Kingston loop line operated by South West Trains. The journey takes about 35 minutes and there are usually four trains an hour.
As a student you are eligible for discounts on local services and it is well worth obtaining a student Oyster card as it is likely you will be a regular user of public transport. These cost just £5 and can save you up to 30% on your travel expenses.

Even with student discounts, public transport may be a costly so if you haven’t already it may be worth getting hold of a bike as it can be a very cheap way to travel and save some money.
Local Shops and restaurants
Teddington is situated between Twickenham and Kingston and is a peaceful town with a high street running through the middle harbouring an array of bars, a mixture of smaller local shops and more established stores, and some of the best restaurants in the area.
Kingston is also not far and offers a bustling market town and major shopping district situated on the River Thames. Popular retail stores line the high street and there is a large shopping mall at The Bentall Centre.
Nightlife
Entertainment is organised by the SU President on a weekly basis in the Students’ Union bar and hall. This includes a ‘pub to club’ night with bus travel to Kingston, karaoke, a quiz night, and a disco each Wednesday for all the clubs and societies. It is normally a themed night for those who enjoy fancy dress.
