Average Rent:

The average rent in Lancashire tends to fluctuate from £55.00 - £85.00 but this obviously depends on the area in which you live and the condition of the house. This average rent is based on sharing in a house of four.

Parking and Permit Information:

Permits are available through the Preston Council and are currently £38.00 for the first permit with a second permit at £43.00. Households are only allowed a maximum of two permits which will be needed in certain zones.

Living in Lancashire:

There are a range of venues and locations across Lancashire for students to enjoy. The University’s Student Union has two venues that students can enjoy. Source would be described as a bar environment and there is also 53 Degrees which is a nightclub which hosts a number of nights throughout the academic year for students. The most popular student night here is Thursday.

However, if you want to explore the city there are a range of clubs including Squires, PR1 and Lava Ignite.

There are two main shopping centres in Preston. Firstly, the Fishergate Shopping Centre, which is located near the railway station. Secondly, the St George’s Shopping Centre has a number of topend clothing retailers along with the variety of other shops including jewellers. Preston has a very popular indoor market, which you can visit to experience a range of freshly grown produce. Shopping in the city centre offers customers the chance to view a selection of independent boutiques.
