Nottingham has a Citycard, which can be used for savings on the trams and buses but there is also a range of other benefits and discounts which make getting one essential, especially as it is free!

Parking and Permit Information:

The Nottingham council has a specific scheme for students. Parking permits are available for students in Nottingham whilst they are studying but the maximum that you can have is two permits and one visitor permit per property. The permits are free of charge and are only valid for one year, so if you stay in the property you will need to reapply.

Living In Nottingham:

Nottingham is a fairly large city with a population of about 750 000 people. It is a thriving city with a mixture of different cultures and this has resulted in an increase in the already diverse student population.

There is a broad range of clubs and bars for students to experience in the city centre from Oceana, Bodega, Market Bar, Stealth, Crisis and Rock City. Most clubs in Nottingham hold students’ night during the week. Those listed above are just a few selected bars and clubs, so remember that there are plenty more venues for you to try out!!

There is a huge amount of shops and shopping centres in Nottingham. The two shopping centres are the Victoria centre and Broadmarsh centre, which combined, have a great range of popular shops. Furthermore, there are a six department stores and a range of markets and independent boutiques and shops. There are also endless markets in various locations across Nottinghamshire, which are both indoor and outdoor, and there are even Farmers’ markets!
